Kevin stepped into Victor's hospital
room eager to check on his
father's condition. He was
still convinced that someone had
intentionally tried to harm Victor
while he was undercover in the mental
hospital and Karen's lab results
had only confirmed his assumptions. He
looked at Victor laying in his
catatonic state in bed and he took a seat
next to him.
"How are you doing Victor?"
Kevin asked taking his father's hand. "The
doctor's say that you should snap
out of this soon."
Kevin waited for a response
from his father, but nothing happened. He
sat painfully watching his father
as deja vu set in. He wondered why
everything was suddenly coming
unglued again. He thought of the times
when Ryan had terrorized his psyche
and how he had come so far with
Victor to lose him now.
As Kevin continued to think
about Victor, his thoughts trailed to the
escape from the mental hospital.
He thought of how Lucy had risked her
own safety to help Victor out.
He knew that she loved Victor and seeing
Lucy do that selfless act reminded
Kevin of the old Lucy that he had
fallen in love with and almost
married. His heart sank and tears began
to form in his eyes as he thought
of being with Lucy again.
"Well, I'd better be going
now Victor." Kevin announced standing up and
looking at his father one last
time. "I have a feeling that the killer
is still on the loose and I'm going
to have to find him before he has a
chance to harm you once again."
Kevin turned towards the
doorway when he heard mumbling from behind
him. He faced Victor again
and noticed him trying to say something. He
moved in closer to hear his father
better as he leaned down by his side.
"Lu......Lu............."
Victor whispered faintly in Kevin's ear.
"What Victor?" Kevin questioned
leaning in closer to him.
"Lucy........." Victor spoke
quietly.
"What about Lucy, Victor?"
Kevin asked watching his father's eyelids
grow heavy.
"Lucy..........." Victor
repeated slipping into an unconscious state
again as he began to snore.
"You miss her don't you?"
Kevin asked knowing how fond of Lucy his
father was. "Yeah, I miss
her too."
Kevin picked up his jacket
and walked out of his father's hospital room
ready to go spend the rest of the
evening at home alone. He let out a
sigh as he put on his jacket and
walked down the hall towards the
elevator.
"Kevin," Ellen called out
approaching him with a smile on her face.
"Ellen, how are you?" Kevin
asked smiling at his colleague.
"I've had better days." she
admitted with a puzzled look on her face.
"What are you still doing here?"
"I was just visiting Victor.
Why do you ask?" Kevin questioned taking
note of her surprise.
"I just thought that you'd
be headed up to the cabin that's all." Ellen
shrugged looking at the file in
her hands.
"What cabin?" Kevin asked
reaching out to her.
"The one in the mountains
that you're meeting Lucy at later." Ellen
reminded him with a smile.
"I know she wasn't supposed to tell anyone
about your getaway, but she was
so excited that you were going to try to
work things through with her.
You know, I'm glad to see............."
"Ellen, where in the mountains
was Lucy going?" Kevin asked in a panic.
"Kevin, you should know you
were the one who.............." Ellen
trailed off as the truth suddenly
hit her. "Oh my God, you weren't the
one who sent Lucy that letter."
"Ellen, do you remember where
she was headed?" Kevin asked worried
about Lucy's safety. "She
could be in serious danger."
"I believe it was something
called the Blue Ridge Cabins, just a bit
north of Pleasure Point," Ellen
said trying to recall, "but I'm not sure
Kevin."
"That's okay Ellen.
I have to find her before something terrible
happens." Kevin announced as the
elevator doors opened and he stepped
inside.
"Kevin, is there anything
that I can do to help out?" Ellen asked as he
stood in the elevator.
"Call Detective Garcia and
have him send men out that way as soon as
possible." Kevin ordered as the
elevator doors shut.
"I don't believe this Siggy." Lucy
shouted holding her duck close to
her as she stared at her car in
anger. "This stupid car."
Lucy kicked the car and felt
a sharp pain run up her leg. She had just
pulled in front of the cabin when
the engine began smoking. She now
stood watching as the fumes rose
above the hood.
"If I didn't know better,
I'd say Eve Lambert was behind this after
what I did to her. Oh.....I
guess this is a sign not for me to tamper
with cars anymore." Lucy thought
to herself as she looked at the small
cabin in front of her checking
to see if Kevin's car was there. "Oh
well, I guess we beat Doc here,
Siggy. We'll just have to wait for him
to look at this piece of junk car."
Lucy held Sigmund close to
her and made her way to the cabin. She
opened the front door with the
key that had been in the envelope
containing the letter and the lock
popped open. She stepped inside and
noticed a fire burning in the corner
of the room.
"Hmm........." she thought
setting Sigmund down as she looked around
the room. "Doc must've stepped
out for a moment."
Lucy took a seat on the couch
and attempted to wait patiently for
Kevin's return, but it was no use.
She stood up and began searching for
things to keep herself occupied
as she waited for Kevin.
"I've got it." she announced
reaching into suitcase and pulling out an
outfit that she was sure would
knock Kevin off of his feet. With a
giggle she disappeared into the
tiny bathroom and changed into her new
dress. She heard the sound
of the front door opening and realized that
Kevin must've returned to the cabin.
"Doc, boy do I have a surprise
for you." she called out from the
bathroom as she took one last look
at her reflection. She took a deep
breath and walked out into the
living room to greet Kevin when she
stopped dead in her tracks.
"Oh my God, it's you!"
