Crazy for You - 4

Lucky looked over at Liz and smiled. She really looked like she was trying to understand the game.

Lucky: So are you enjoying the game?

Liz smiled at him. *I am enjoying the company at the game, that's for sure.*

Liz: Yeah, it's great.

Suddenly, Elizabeth screamed as her head and shirt were soaked by beer.

Liz:(loudly) Oh no! Look at me!

Lucky quickly turned around to see who had spilled their beer. Instead, he found himself staring into the drunk faces of two
young men. He waited for them to apologize.

Guy1: What are you staring at?!

Lucky:(firmly) I was just wondering why you hadn't apologized to the lady for soaking her yet.

Guy2:(laughing) Apologize?! I'm the one who lost a beer!.....(Coldly) If you know what's good for you, you'll back off.

Lucky eyed them. The anger was growing in him.

Liz:(pleading to Lucky) Just forget it, Lucky. I don't want you to get in a fight.

Lucky kept looking at the guys while listening to Elizabeth. They were bigger than him, but he didn't think he could avoid the
fight. He was a Spencer, after all--They protect the women they care for. Lucky turned towards Liz.

Lucky:(determinedly) Elizabeth, I don't want to fight with them. But they should apologize. It's not right.

Lucky turned away from her again and glared at them.

Lucky: The lady deserves an apology.

Guy1:(looking at Liz and then harshly) I don't see a lady...All I see is a whore!

Lucky erupted. He wasn't going to let some jerk talk to Liz like that. He cared about her too much. Before he realized what he
was doing, his fist had connected with the guy's jaw. Liz screamed and he fell back against the chair.

Guy2: What the h*ll do you think you're doing?! You little b*stard!

Lucky:(coldly) Any guy who treats a woman like that deserves whatever he gets! Show some respect.

Liz:(scared and pleading) Lucky, please! Let's just get out of here....Please.

Lucky turned towards Liz and saw the fear in her eyes. She didn't want him to get hurt. He grabbed her hand and they headed
to the exit. Once they were in the hall, they stopped and he turned to Liz.

Lucky:(concerned) Are you okay?

Liz:(nodding weakly) Yeah, just sticky....How about you? How's your hand?

Lucky glanced down at his red hand. He was in pain, but chose to ignore it. He returned his eyes to Liz.

Lucky: Yeah, it's fine.

Liz:(skeptically) I bet it is....Here, let me see.

She reached down and took his hand in hers. She ran her thumb over his knuckles, examining it. Lucky was tingling from her
gentle touch. His hand flinched.

Liz: Oh, I'm sorry. Did I hurt you?

Lucky blushed. He knew the reason he had flinched. It wasn't from the pain. It was her.

Lucky:(shaking his head) No...no you didn't.

Liz:(smiling) Good....Come on, Rocky, let's get some ice.

Lucky smiled at her and followed her to the food court. She asked for a cup of ice. Then she went into the lady's room and got
some paper towels. She wrapped the ice in the paper.

Liz: Come here.

Lucky obeyed. His usually independent self was willingly allowing Liz to take care of him. He walked over to her and she gently
took his hand in hers. She placed the ice on it.

Liz:(grinning) It does hurt, doesn't it?

Lucky:(shaking his head) No, I told you, it's fine.

Liz:(smiling) Lucky Spencer, you're a terrible liar.

Lucky:(smiling) Actually, I'm a great liar. It's in the Spencer genes.

Liz: Well, maybe so, but I can see right through you.

Lucky:(smiling) Well, I guess I just can't lie to the inventor of the practice!

Liz:(laughing) Watch it, Spencer or I'll hurt you're remaining hand!

Lucky:(grinning) You wouldn't dare.

Liz responded by dropping the ice and playfully reaching for his other hand. He blocked her attempt and grasped her hand with
his. She lost her balance and fell lightly against the wall. They were both laughing. Liz's back was against the wall and Lucky
was leaning into her. They didn't even realize it when their laughter subsided and they began to gaze silently into each other's
eyes. Their faces drew closer and they were aware of no one but themselves....aware of nothing but the moment Lucky gently
placed his good hand on Liz's jaw. He leaned down and Liz tilted her face up towards his. Slowly, their lips met in a soft and
tender kiss. They each reveled in the feel of their lips touching. Sparks of electricity flew between them. They slowly parted and
smiled at each other. Neither one said a word...Their eyes told it all. They had both wanted that kiss.....and nothing had ever felt
so good.

Liz:(blushing and nervous) Uh....there are people around.

Lucky broke his eyes away from Liz. He glanced around at the stadium hallway. There were a few people, but not many. He
smiled at the thought of what an unromantic setting their first kiss had just taken place in. It didn't matter to him, though. It was
still perfect. He turned back to Liz with a smile.

Lucky: Come on, let's go.

Lucky took her hand in his. He did it naturally, without even thinking about it. It just felt right...to the both of them.

They left the stadium in a comfortable silence. They went to the subway station, waited for the right one and then boarded it.
They both sat down and Liz turned to Lucky.

Liz:(smiling) Thank you.

Lucky:(curiously) For what?

Liz:(smiling) For defending me....eventhough it was incredibly stupid.

Lucky:(grinning) You're welcome.....(seriously) But Elizabeth, they had no right to treat you that way.

Liz:(nodding) I know Lucky....They were drunk, though.

Lucky:(shaking his head vigorously) That's no excuse....(softly) It made me so angry to hear them call you that..that word.

Liz:(smiling slightly) I understand. You really could have gotten hurt, though.

Lucky: Yeah, I know. But I couldn't help myself.

Liz:(smiling at him) Well, I really did appreciate it. (Laughing) But if you decide to do that again, make sure you put on your
boxing gloves first!

Lucky:(laughing) Okay, I will.

Lucky smiled at her and then realized something *I'll always protect you Elizabeth. Always.* Lucky looked down at Elizabeth.
She yawned and then she gently placed her head on his shoulder. She took a chance that he wanted her to...and he did. He
smiled and marveled at her beauty. She closed her eyes and slowly drifted off to sleep. Lucky watched her as she slept so
peacefully and thought that she looked like an angel....his angel......It was right then that he knew. He knew what he had been
feeling for her. He knew that it had come fast, but that sometimes it happened that way. He knew that.....he was in love with
her. It scared him a little, it surprised him a little....but it made him feel happier than he had ever imagined possible. He brushed
her hair away from her face and then tilted his head close to hear. He whispered.......

Lucky:(smiling) I love you, Elizabeth.

Then he wrapped his arm around her shoulder, pulled her closer to him and laid his head on top of hers.

I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing by Aerosmith

I could stay awake just to hear you breathing
Watch you smile while you are sleeping
Far away and dreaming
I could spend my life in this sweet surrender
I could stay lost in this moment forever
Well, every moment spent with you
Is a moment I treasure

I don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing

Lying close to you
Feeling your heart beating
And I'm wondering what you're dreaming
Wondering if it's me you're seeing
Then I kiss your eyes and thank God we're together
And I just wanna stay with you
In this moment forever, forever and ever

I don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing

I don't wanna miss one smile
I don't wanna miss one kiss
Well, I just wanna be with you
Right here with you, just like this
I just wanna hold you close
Feel your heart so close to mine
And stay here in this moment
For all the rest of time

Don't wanna close my eyes
Don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
'Cause I'd still miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing

I don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing

Don't wanna close my eyes
Don't wanna fall asleep, yeah
I don't wanna miss a thing

Elizabeth slowly opened her eyes and then tried to pick her head up. She couldn't and then realized why. Lucky had laid his
head on top of hers and then fallen asleep. She smiled and then snuggled back onto his shoulder. Her thoughts were immediately
of Lucky and the day they had shared together. *Today was incredible! This proves it...Lucky does have feelings for me. I
know that now. After all of this time, I know it.....That kiss....oh, that kiss....I've never felt like that before....I just looked into
his eyes....and I lost myself...Then we kissed....it felt so right...so good. I've imagined kissing Lucky so many times....but my
imagination couldn't compare to the real thing. I was in heaven. Shivers went down my spine and goosebumps covered my
body. It was so great.....He wanted that kiss as much as I did. I could tell. Then he took my hand....he took my hand! It felt like
such a natural thing.....It was like my hand was made to be holding Lucky's......It felt like my lips were meant to kiss his.......I
feel like we are meant to be together.* Elizabeth surprised herself a little at that thought. But she surprised herself even more
when she realized how much she meant it....And when she realized what else she felt for Lucky. *Things have definitely changed
for us....Lucky's not someone that I want desperately, but can't be with anymore......Now that we've talked and things have
happened between us, I see just how special he is...how kind and considerate....how smart and protective he is......I never
really saw him for who he really is....I just saw that I wanted him.......That crush that I had on him has grown....or, actually,
matured. It started out as crush...a big one....but now....now....* Liz cut off her thoughts as she struggled to figure out what she
really felt. Then she realized it. *Now...I'm..I'm..in love with Lucky.....I love him.* Liz almost couldn't believe that she felt that
way, but she knew it was true. She was so happy to realize it, but it took her by surprise. She quickly removed her head and sat
up. Then the words she had said in her head...she said aloud.

Liz:(slowly) I'm in love with Lucky.

Lucky had woken up when Liz had ripped her head out from underneath his. He was still sleepy, but heard Liz talking to
herself.

Lucky:(rubbing his eyes) What?...Elizabeth, what did you say?

Elizabeth whipped her head around and looked at Lucky. A look of mortification swept over her face. *Oh God, I said that out
loud. Tell me he didn't hear it. Please.*

Liz:(slightly nervous) Say what?..I..I didn't say anything.

Lucky:(curiously) Yes, you did I heard you.

Liz:(nodding) Oh yeah, that's right. I did.

Lucky:(raising his brow) Ok, so are you going to tell me what you said....and better yet, who you were talking to?

Liz:(thinking quickly) Oh yeah, I was just saying to myself that we are almost back in Port Charles.

Lucky:(smiling) Oh ok. You know, talking to yourself is an early sign of senility.

Liz:(hitting him lightly) Well, then consider me senile!

Lucky:(grinning) No problem....I already do.

Liz:(smiling) Lucky Spencer, you're impossible!

Lucky laughed and then noticed that they were pulling into the station.

Lucky: We're back in lovely Port Charles.

Liz: Yes, we are. (remembering something) Oh no, what time is it?

Lucky:(glancing at his watch) 6:30...why?

Liz: Because we were both supposed to start our shifts at Kelly's a half an hour ago! Ruby's going to kill us!

Lucky: Oh yeah you're right. I totally forgot....Come on we better hurry.

Lucky grabbed Liz's hand and they ran through the subway station. Then they ran all the way to Kelly's. Exhausted, they
stopped outside of the entrance.

Liz:(out of breath) I am so tired....The last thing I want to do now is work.

Lucky:(smiling) Elizabeth, work is always the last thing you want to do.

Liz:(laughing) You know, you're asking for it.....Now who's going to go in there first and incur the wrath of Ruby.

Lucky: I vote you.

Liz: Why me? She's your Aunt.

Lucky: Yeah and since she's family she's got yelling priveledges.

Liz:(laughing) Wow! I guess I must be family to her, too.

Lucky:(laughing and pushing her towards the door) Yeah must be....Come on go in.

Elizabeth quickly ducked out of his grasp. She opened the door and planted a kiss on Lucky's cheek. Then, while he was still
surprised, she pushed him through the door and quickly shut it. Lucky smiled at how she had easily outsmarted him...Of course,
she could do just about anything to him these days. He was still smiling and thinking when.....

Ruby: Lucky! Get your Spencer butt in here! You're late!

Lucky quickly went to the back and grabbed an apron. Ruby was still yelling at him, but he was watching Liz come in. Ruby
noticed her right away.

Ruby: Ah...So you've also decided to grace us with your presence. (Sternly) Do you even know what 'on time' means,
Liz?...Why are you late?

Liz flashed her a smile and thought quickly. *"I went to a baseball game" is not going to cut it.*

Liz:(quickly) I'm so sorry, Ruby! I had a doctor's appointment and...well, you know how doctors are...they keep you waiting
forever. I was going to call you, but they didn't have a pay phone and they wouldn't let me use their office phone..something
about needing to keep it open for patients or something....I really am sorry.

She looked at Ruby with sad eyes. Ruby seemed to buy Liz's little story.

Ruby: Fine. But don't let it happen again.

Liz:(smiling) I won't.

Lucky watched Elizabeth and a smile broke out across his face. He couldn't believe how she had totally fooled Ruby. She really
was a quick thinker and schemer. He'd never really realized that he liked that in her. She had spunk...Spencers liked spunk. His
thoughts were interrupted by Ruby's voice.

Ruby: How about you? What's your excuse?

Lucky was taken by surprise and his usual quick thinking ability escaped him.....He stammered...

Lucky:Uh...I.uh..was...I..was.....

Ruby: Forget it. It seems like you don't have one......That, my nephew, is another stacks worth of dishes to wash.

Lucky sighed and nodded. Elizabeth flashed him a gloating smile from across the room. She had escaped unscathed...and he
hadn't. He lowered his head as she walked towards him. She smiled and whispered in his ear.

Liz: I told you that you were a terrible liar.......Don't worry, I'll help you with dishes.

Then she sauntered off into the back. He smiled and shook his head. *She's good.....I can't even get annoyed with her
anymore.* He picked up his tub of dishes and began to work again. His mind just wouldn't stay on his work. It was on
Elizabeth...and having her there didn't help him any. He watched her as she took every order. He examined how she walked,
stood, talked, even held her pen and pad. He immersed himself in everything Elizabeth. He was absentmindedly washing the
table and watching Liz. He was so preoccupied that he knocked a dish off the table and it broke into pieces on the floor. He
blushed and quickly bent down. Elizabeth, who had just finished taking an order, walked over and bent down next to him. She
began to help him.

Liz:(smiling) I think you're turning into me.

Lucky:(shaking his head) Nah, I was just....uh..my mind was somewhere else.

Liz grinned at him and finished helping him. She knew what he was feeling. Her mind had been elsewhere the entire
night.....elsewhere being Lucky. She got up from her knees and went back to work. She went and picked up an order when she
saw Lucky leaning over and cleaning a table. *God, he's gorgeous.* She was so involved in Lucky that she didn't see the chair
in front of her as she walked. She tripped and the two plates in her hand ended up on the floor. She immmediately blushed and,
like Lucky, knelt down. Lucky saw her, and like Liz, went to help her.

Lucky:(smiling) Still clumsy, I see.

Liz:(blushing and smiling) Yeah...that's me.

Lucky and Liz looked up as they saw Ruby standing over them. She did not look happy.

Ruby: Are you two trying to put me out of business?

Lucky:(grinning) Yeah, is it working?

Ruby:(Disapprovingly) Don't get smart with me, young man. You two are pushing it.

Liz:(smiling) Sorry, Ruby. We'll try to be more careful.

Ruby turned away from them and smiled. *I don't think it's a matter of being careful.....it's a matter of being preocuppied...with
each other.* She'd noticed where their minds and eyes were that day--focused on each other. She thought it was sweet, but
didn't let it show.

Lucky:(smiling) Uh oh. I think we've pushed our annoyance limit to the edge today.

Liz:(laughing) Nope, I have unlimited Ruby annoyance.

Lucky:(smiling at her) Yeah, you do.

They soon found themselves locked in a gaze again, but quickly broke it.

Lucky:(grinning) Well, we better get back to work. We have alot of broken dishes to pay for.

Liz:(smiling at him) Yeah, we do....And try be more careful, please.

Lucky:(grinning) I will...but practice what you preach.

Liz was ready for a comeback, but Lucky flashed her a smile and turned his back. They returned to work.....but it still was not
without its distractions.

~~Hardy House~~

Sarah was poking around downstairs when she found Liz's note to her grandmother. It said she was spending the day with
Lucky. Sarah couldn't have been more jealous. She didn't want Lucky, but she wanted him to want her still. And she especially
didn't want him with her sister. She walked upstairs and went into Liz's room. She looked through her desk drawers and found
her diary. It was locked, but after a few minutes she found the key. She flipped through it, noticing how many times Lucky's
name appeared on the pages. She slammed the book shut. *You really do like him don't you, Lizzie.....Sorry, but I can't forgive
you for going to the dance with Nikolas and now stealing Lucky. Now you and Lucky seem to be getting along just great. You
must be so happy....Well, sister dear, that has got to end.* She smirked and left the Hardy house....she was going to Kelly's.
